OVERVIEW
There is nothing better than fresh cold brew coffee; luckily it is easier than ever to make cold brew coffee at home. This guide will serve as a Quick Start Guide to help you learn how to use your home ESPRO Cold Brew Coffee Kit as you unbox it! Remember this recipe makes cold brew concentrate – so you aren't going to want to drink it without diluting it.
WHAT YOU NEED
- ESPRO Cold Brew CB1
- Water
- Ground Coffee
Step 1
Insert the micro-mesh filter disc into the fitted opening at the bottom of the stainless-steel brewer. Insert a paper filter on top.
Step 2
Fill the paper filter with coarse-ground coffee according to the recipe options on the side of the growler:
Minimum Fill Line = Half a standard bag of coffee grounds; 6oz (170g)
Medium Fill Line = Standard bag of coffee grounds; 12 oz (340 g)
Maximum Fill Line = One and a third Standard bags of coffee grounds; 16oz (454 g)
Pro Tip: You can make iced tea by following the recipe on the side of the growler using loose leaf tea instead of coffee grounds.
Step 3
Fill the growler to the desired line (that correlates to the amount of grounds you used in the previous step) with cold water and pour it into the brewer. Repeat this process a second time for a total of two water measures.
Pro Tip: Stir the mixture to ensure all grounds have been fully saturated
Step 4
Cover the brewer with the lid and allow coffee or tea to brew for 12-24 hours at room temperature.
Step 5
Place the funnel on top of the open growler.
Pro Tip: Finish up your brew on a flat surface to prevent any spillage.
Step 6
Remove the lid from brewer, then place the brewer on top of the funnel. Your cold brew will begin to drain immediately and will complete in approximately 20 minutes.
Pro Tip: Your cold brew coffee concentrate remains fresh for up to 2 weeks stored in your refrigerator.
Step 7
Enjoy your brew multiple ways—over ice, milk or mixed with hot or cold water!

HOW TO DILUTE YOUR COLD BREW CONCENTRATE
Have you ever tried to drink cold brew concentrate straight?
It is way too strong. That’s because our cold brew is roughly a 1:2 ratio – in other words 1 gram of coffee per 2 grams of water— in other words, it’s very concentrated!
Most people agree that a 1:15 to 1:18 ratio is ideal for balanced strength for regular coffee. However, some people like to drink their cold brew coffee a little stronger—around a 1:10 to 1:14 ratio—because once you add ice (and some of it melts), you end up at a balanced strength.
- To dilute your cold brew to a 1:10 ratio, you need to mix 1 part concentrate and 4 parts water. Add ice and see how it tastes.
- To dilute your cold brew to a 1:14 ratio, you’ll need to mix 1 part concentrate and 6 parts water.Add ice and see how it tastes.
Remember, you are the final say on what tastes good to you. The good thing is you can do it all in one session.
Dilute your concentrate in the grower to 1:10, then pour a bit out, take a sip and see how you like it. Then you can just keep adding a little water until it’s just right for you.
